Get to know me
From Battambang to Phnom Penh
Everyone’s life journey is different, and what matters most to each of us varies as well. Personally, I grew up as the child of a farmer in a small, undeveloped village in Battambang province (prior to 2010). There were no adequate schools—such as those offering English classes—and I had never even seen a modern smartphone or new clothes. Yet, things like smartphones and new outfits were not actually what I needed. What truly matter is knowing what we want for our own future.
For example, suppose I want to pursue a master's degree abroad—whether in Europe or Asia—and I set a specific year for it, let say 2027. By doing this, I become aware of my goal, which then drives me to find the ways to achieve it. If I do not set such a life goal, I might not even know what I truly want; without that clarity, how can I move forward successfully?
Hello! I'm Hong. Owner of KhmerVerse.
Non English speaking, any wrong grammar or words, please ignore them. Unless you understand my writing, that's enough.
I'm here to share a little bit of this and that about my boring life to the world.
I hope that you like my website and enjoy your stay here when you are tired, boring, or want to relax from work.
If you think you are alone in this world, please let me know because I also feel the same way as yours sometimes.
This is the path I took to secure a scholarship to study in China in 2016. I set this goal for myself and worked hard to find the ways to achieve it. If I did not set this goal, I would likely have just stayed home playing on my phone, never experiencing what it means to study abroad. It has been a tremendous opportunity for personal growth. Naturally, obstacles arose constantly along this journey; I simply want to emphasize that reaching such goal is never easy.
How can you achieve your dreams if you just lie around doing nothing?
